Behavioral Health / Psychiatric RN

Provide compassionate nursing care to patients experiencing behavioral health and psychiatric conditions. The Behavioral Health RN will assess patients, administer medications, monitor mental and physical status, support therapeutic interventions, and promote a safe and supportive care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive mental health and physical assessments.
  • Monitor patient behavior, mood, and changes in clinical condition.
  • Administer psychiatric medications and monitor therapeutic responses and side effects.
  • Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
  • Maintain a safe environment and follow appropriate safety precautions.
  • Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation when needed.
  • Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment, and coping strategies.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Previous behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and crisis-management skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • Commitment to patient safety, dignity, and compassionate care.

Pay Rate
$60.47 - $65.35/hour
