Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced OB/Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive care to women throughout labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. The RN will monitor maternal and fetal well-being, assist with deliveries, manage obstetric emergencies, and collaborate with providers to ensure safe outcomes for mothers and newborns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor patients throughout labor, delivery, and the postpartum period.
- Continuously monitor fetal heart rate and maternal vital signs.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, oxytocin, and blood products as ordered.
- Assist physicians and midwives with vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for C-section patients.
- Recognize and respond to obstetric emergencies, including fetal distress, postpartum hemorrhage, and preeclampsia.
- Provide pain management support, including epidural monitoring and patient education.
- Support newborn stabilization and assist with immediate postpartum care.
- Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA, and obstetric care standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Current ACLS certification required.
- Current NRP certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery or OB nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of fetal monitoring, labor management, obstetric medications, and emergency procedures.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and patient-care skills.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
Pay Rate
$83.33 - $88.21/hour
