Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily nursing operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. The ADON will provide clinical leadership, supervise nursing staff, promote regulatory compliance, coordinate staffing, and drive quality improvement initiatives while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.


Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Director of Nursing in managing the daily operations of the nursing department
• Supervise, mentor, coach, and support Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and other clinical staff
• Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered nursing care in accordance with facility policies, evidence-based practices, and regulatory standards
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, recruitment, onboarding, orientation, competency assessments, and performance evaluations
• Monitor patient care quality, infection prevention practices, medication management, and patient safety initiatives
• Conduct nursing rounds, review patient care plans, and assist in resolving complex clinical issues and staff concerns
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
• Assist in preparing for state, federal, and accreditation surveys while maintaining continuous survey readiness
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, risk management activities, incident investigations, and performance improvement programs
• Monitor departmental budgets, inventory, equipment, and resource utilization to support efficient nursing operations
• Promote staff education, professional development, and adherence to clinical competencies and best practices
• Serve as the Director of Nursing in their absence and perform other leadership responsibilities as assigned


Required Qualifications:

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification required
• Minimum 3–5 years of recent Registered Nurse experience with previous nursing leadership or supervisory experience required
• Strong knowledge of nursing administration, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, infection prevention, and patient safety standards
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Strong critical-thinking, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities
• Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered, and evidence-based nursing care

Pay Rate
$64.09 - $68.96/hour
