APRN/PA – Hospitalist Oncology
Provide comprehensive inpatient care to adult oncology patients in collaboration with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team. The APRN/PA will assess patients, manage acute and chronic conditions, coordinate treatment plans, and support high-quality, patient-centered oncology care.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive medical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions in hospitalized oncology patients.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and imaging as appropriate.
- Prescribe and manage medications and treatments within scope of practice.
- Monitor patients for changes in condition, treatment response, and complications.
- Coordinate care with oncologists, hospitalists, nurses, pharmacists, and other specialists.
- Participate in admissions, daily rounds, consultations, and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
- Respond to urgent clinical situations and provide appropriate interventions.
Qualifications
- Current APRN/NP or Physician Assistant (PA) license.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- National board certification appropriate to the role.
- Previous hospitalist, inpatient, or oncology experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities.
- Ability to manage complex patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Pay Rate
$120,000.00 - $140,000.00/year
