Position Overview

The Anesthesia Technician supports anesthesia services across multiple surgical and procedural areas. This role ensures anesthesia equipment readiness, assists anesthesia providers, and responds to emergent situations while maintaining a safe and efficient operating environment.

Unit Scope & Coverage

  • Supports 38 procedure rooms, including:

    • 17 Main ORs

    • 4 CVORs

    • 3 CCL

    • 3 L&D

    • 2 Endoscopy

    • EP lab suites

    • MRI, CT, Ultrasound, X-Ray, and Nuclear Medicine areas

  • Staffing: 8 Anesthesia Techs supporting 38 rooms

Primary Responsibilities

  • Clean, set up, and perform checks on anesthesia machines

  • Set up circuits and prepare anesthesia equipment

  • Inventory and restock anesthesia machines, Omnicells, and supply cabinets

  • Transport and stage equipment as needed

  • Assist CRNAs and anesthesiologists with procedures

  • Set up for arterial lines (no IV starts)

  • Respond to emergency situations including:

    • OB Stat

    • Anesthesia Stat

    • Trauma Alerts

    • Stroke Alerts

Required Qualifications

  • Certifications (required at submittal):

    • BLS

    • Certified Telecommunication

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 1 year of experience accepted

    • First-time travelers welcome

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pediatric anesthesia experience

  • Familiarity with Client anesthesia machines and Mindray equipment

Anesthesia Coverage

  • Anesthesiologists and CRNAs in house 24/7

  • Pediatric trauma program

  • Main OR and CVOR capable of urgent cases

  • 30-minute response time for urgent cases and call

Supervision & Support

  • Anesthesia Tech Supervisor: Sean

  • New unit manager in place

  • Director oversees all Surgical Services

Call & Scheduling Requirements

  • Call: Offered but not required

  • Weekend Requirement: Sundays (set schedule)

  • Holidays: Required unless RTO approved in advance

Floating Requirements

  • Within department only

  • Rare floating to Meridian or Nampa ORs

Equipment

  • Client anesthesia machines

  • Mindray monitors and systems

Dress Code

  • Scrubs and locker provided

  • Travelers may wear personal scrub caps

  • Must provide own OR shoes

Orientation

  • 3 shifts within the department

Pay Rate
$41.54 - $46.42/hour
